Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, November 9, 2017 – Boston, MA – USGBC announced this week that ORIGIN, the connected material data hub developed by GIGA, will be integrated with LEED Online, Arc and WELL Workstation to facilitate the submittal of product data and help drive better collaboration between projects and product manufacturers.
Over the next year, the Healthy Building Network (HBN) & GIGA will work on beta testing to allow Manufacturers who use either Origin or PORTICO to move their data freely between the platforms. Origin provides Manufacturers with a direct path to submit their materials to the mindful MATERIALS Cloud Library. Origin is also steadily adding integration partners facilitating automatic input and updating of certification documentation.
HBN & GIGA will also work on a collaborative approach to engage the industry to share material data. The aim of merging joint engagement effort is to communicate the value of product transparency criteria and help Manufacturers to realize ROI from their certified materials and products.
“At GIGA we strongly believe that collaborating with industry partners is the most effective way to facilitate ecosystem strength and growth. Exchanging connected data with PORTICO will provide Manufacturers in the ecosystem direct User feedback that can help inform future certification ROI. We are thrilled to be re-engaging our efforts with the HBN team for 2018 beta testing.” Rebecca Best, GIGA | VP Marketing
“HBN sees the collaboration with GIGA as having multiple benefits. Manufacturers will be able to accommodate multiple programmatic asks efficiently. Owners and designers will more rapidly be able to find a selection of products that meet their health and performance criteria. We are excited to share HBN research and analysis through PORTICO across the industry to help owners and designers focus and prioritize their manufacturer engagement and to give manufacturers a more coherent market signal. “ Tom Lent , HBN | Policy Director
